Virginia Elizabeth’s Obituary CHILHOWIE, VA Virginia Elizabeth Carter age 92 went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday May 14, 2019 at the Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, VA. Virginia was born on September 14, 1926 in Konnarock, VA to the late Wells & Laura Pennington. She is also preceded in death by her husband James Gilbert Carter; siblings Lavern Pennington, Lillian Pennington, Esther Blevins, Mary Belle Pennington, Raymond Pennington and Blanche Pennington; great nephew Bobby Hall; and a great-great niece Bella Kinard.

She worked for 20+ years at the Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion. She was also a member at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church, and loved her church family. She is survived by her great niece who she raised as her daughter Annie Kinard & husband Jason; great niece Jessica Delp; great-great nieces and nephew Abbie, Sophie, & Damien, all of Chilhowie; niece Dinah Handy-Hall of DE; and several other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00PM on Friday May 17, 2019 from the Bradley’s Funeral Home Chapel in Chilhowie with Pastor Jimmy Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00PM on Friday evening at the funeral chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday at the McClure Cemetery in Chilhowie.
