Virginia G. Miller, 96, of Moline, IL, died Sunday, May 27, 2018 at home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., June 1, 2018 at Esterdahl Mortuary, 6601 38th Ave, Moline. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., June 1, 2018 at the funeral home.

Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Bethel Wesley Methodist Church. Virginia was born on November 6, 1921 in Little Rock, AR, the daughter of Albert B. and Hazel Bettis Gale.

She married William W. Miller in New Orleans, LA, on May 14, 1942. Virginia worked for Slagel Drug as a manager in the postal station for 15 years. She also worked as a saleslady at “candles & Stuff” in Southpark Mall.

Virginia was a member at Bethel Wesley Methodist in Moline. She loved England, miniatures, and the White Sox. After marriage as a military wife, she became a Captain of Port in 1942.

Survivors include her sons, Jeff (Jan) Miller, Moline, IL, Michael Miller, Silvis, IL; daughter, Leslie (Bob) Kramsky, Brattleboro, VT; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, her parents, and her sister, Jane Zimmerman. Memories may be shared online by visiting esterdahl.com.
