Mrs. Virginia Georgoulias Moutos passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2019, surrounded by her loving and devoted sons, Dr. Franklin T. Moutos of Durham, NC and Stuart P. Moutos of Raleigh, NC. She was born on April 11, 1948 in Sardinia, Greece. Virginia was the daughter of the late Nina and Chris Georgoulias.

Along with her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Thomas Franklin Moutos; brother, George Georgoulias. She is survived by siblings, Pr. Betsy Vlahos (Fr.

George) of Clemmons; Mike Georgoulias (Rita) of Winston-Salem; Irene Georgoulakos (Phillip) of Charlotte; Steve Georgoulias (Demetra) of Charlotte; Sue Arakas (Tommy) of Asheville; sisters-in-law, Kiki Georgoulias of Winston-Salem; Elizabeth Moutos Vlasis of Winston-Salem; many nieces and nephews. Virginia was a cherished wife, mother, sister, aunt, godparent and friend. She touched many lives with her radiant smile and inspiring commitment to faith and service.

She worked at Bolton Elementary School with multiple roles over 30 years before retiring. Virginia was a dedicated and active member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Winston-Salem. Her contributions to her church and community span her entire life and included serving on the Parish Council and Choir; membership in the Philanthropic Ladies; Philoptochos Society and volunteering at the annual Greek Festival, where she would prepare Greek pastries, provide lively cooking demonstrations and much more.

Virginia’s aura of sweetness, gentle nature and quiet strength were a constant of comfort and encouragement. Her laughter and kindness will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends 6:30pm-8:30pm, Monday March 25, 2019 with Trisagion Service at 7:30pm at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keating Drive, Winston-Salem.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the church 11:00 am Tuesday, March 26, 2019 with Father Demetri Kangelaris, Father George Vlahos and Father Constantine Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek is serving the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keating Drive, Winston-Salem, NC. 27104.
