Virginia “Ginny” Wood Bryan, 73, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 3, 2019 in Fishersville. She was born April 1, 1945 in New Hope to the late Herbert and Hazel Wood. Prior to her illness she enjoyed cake decorating and crafts.

Virginia is the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bryan; sisters, Shirley, Gloria, Nancy and her brother, James. She is survived by her children, Betty Maples and her husband, Terry, Dennetta Batten and her husband, Jeff, with whom she had made her home; Jr. Hale and his wife, Lorie and Pam Critzer and her husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Lisa, Bobby, Jennifer, Kristin, Bryan, Ashley, Jennifer, Jessica, Brittney and Garrett; 18 great grandchildren; father of her children, Jerry Hale and his wife, Sharon and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939 and where funeral services will be held on January 7, 2019 at 11:00am in the chapel conducted by Pastor Dennis Bradley. Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. The family extends a special thank you to the doctors and staff at the Hospice of the Shenandoah, Augusta Health Cancer Center and Shenandoah Nursing Home.
