Virginia “Hal” C. Lanzoni December 25, 1929 – December 23, 2018 Virginia C. (Nash) Lanzoni, 88, of Wallingford, loving wife of Ford Lanzoni for 68 years, passed away peacefully Dec. 23, 2018 at Masonic Hospice. Virginia was born in Meriden on December 25, 1929, a daughter of John and Dorothy (Scott) Nash.

Ginny, as most knew her by, was a member of Post 73 Women’s Auxiliary, a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church and volunteer at the Wallingford Senior Center. Ginny worked at Friendly’s, Kmart and managed Mostly Men clothing store. Her greatest accomplishment was that of being a “MOM”.

Ginny loved and attended all the activities of which her children and grandchildren were involved. She was an avid fan of the UCONN men and women’s basketball team and bowling was a favorite pastime with her husband and friends. In addition to her husband, Ford, she is survived by five children, Vivian (John) Somerville Jr., Jim (Annamarie) Lanzoni, Michael (Lynn) Lanzoni, Tom Lanzoni, and Diane (David) Nadeau; her sister Dorothy Laude; her grandchildren, John (Hildy) Somerville III, Megan (Jason) Fredrick, Laura (Bob) Strehl, Melissa Lanzoni, Tina Lanzoni, Michael (Amber) Lanzoni, Matt Lanzoni, Thomas Lanzoni Jr., David (JoAnn) Poach Jr., Aaron (Caitlyn) Poach; and five great-grandchildren.

Virginia was predeceased by her infant son, Ford Jr., her 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Born: December 25, 1929 Death: December 23, 2018 Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext. , Wallingford on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 5 pm until 7 pm.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 9 am from The Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
