Obituary for Virginia Owens (Moore) Blacksburg — Virginia Moore Owens, 90, affectionately known as “Miss Jenny,” of 215 Westview Drive, passed away Tuesday, September 4th, 2018, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born September 17th, 1927, she was the widow of Maynard L. Owens and the daughter of the late Braxton E. and Eunice B. Moore. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mozelle M. Jenkins, and brothers, Frank and Braxton Moore Jr. Surviving Mrs. Owens are numerous nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her family at St. John United Methodist Church and Mrs. Owens wanted everyone to know how much all of them meant to her. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 6th at St. John United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Boshell officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Agner, Victor Byars, Hal Howington, David McLean, Russell McLean, and Joe Whitener Jr. Mark Byars, Richard Hope, Mickey Moss, and David Roark will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John United Methodist Church, PO Box 703, Blacksburg, SC 29702. The family will be at their respective homes.
