Virginia Lee Blankenship, 87 of Logan, passed away Monday April 9, 2018 at Dignity Hospice in Chapmanville. Born January 11, 1931 in Madison, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Estolla Wills Vande Linde. Virginia was also preceded in death by her husband Harry Blankenship, one brother James Vande Linde, and a sister Alice Roberts.

Virginia was a member of the Nighbert Memorial United Methodist Church since 1963, where she also ran the kitchen for the church and was the treasurer… Read More » for her Sunday School class. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and set an example of how to live a Christian life for her family. She was loved by her neighbors and friends on Stratton St. Those left to cherish her memory include a son Doug (Debbie) Blankenship of Logan, a daughter Pam Mooney of Logan, three sisters Lilly Miller of Madison, Wanda Roberts of Orland FL, and Ruth Ann Mynhier of Mauldin SC, grandchildren Todd Mooney, Amber Thompson, Ashley Couch and Justin Blankenship, and 12 great grandchildren with one on the way.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Margaret Small, who was Virginia’s caregiver. Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 12, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Honaker Funeral Home in Logan, with Rev. Mike Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Madison, WV. Pallbearers will be Justin Blankenship, Richie Thompson, Jaxon Thompson, Todd Mooney and Price Couch. Friends may call on the family on Wednesday April 11, 2018 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
