Edward Eugene “Pete” Frye, 69 of Holden, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday September 12, 2018. Born March 17, 1949 in Holden, he was the son of the late Claude and Armenta Spurlock Frye. Pete was also preceded in death by his brothers Johnny Spurlock and Danny Frye, sisters Dicie Frye and Lomel “Pokie” Maple.

Pete was a member of the 5 & 6 Holden Freewill Baptist Church, but in his own words, “That was his church”. Pete served in the Viet Nam War as a proud U. S. Marine. … Read More » Pete was also proud of his Coal Mining days.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 47 years Oddetta Carter Frye, Daughter Lavetta Frye of Holden, son James “Duke” Frye of Logan, three grandchildren Gavyn Frye, Victoria Frye and Shayla Frye all of Holden, a special nephew whom he loved like a son Claude “Bo” Frye, brothers Mac (Gale) Frye of Logan, Bernie Frye and one sister Wanda (Dave) Ells of Whitman. Pete left behind a host of friends that was more like family, Clifford and Aileen Perry, Randy “The Man” Redmond, Sharron Workman (his Coke drinking buddy), Travis and Rebecca Perry, Susie Jones, Mary Redmond, Vickie Hibbs, Bridget Browning, Xena “Cindy” a boxer who he loved, Sandy Stout, Mike Wordell, Teddy Workman, Eugene Akers, Tommy Burgess, Frankie Codispoti, Joe Codispoti, and Ray Williams, who was always to the rescue. A special thanks to Boone Home Health Nurses, All About Care CNA Jen Hill, Hospice Nurses and Hospice House Staff.

Funeral services will be held on Friday September 14, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Honaker Funeral Home in Logan, with the Rev. Larry Light officiating. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
