James Carl Buskirk, 79 of Buskirk Addition, Logan, passed away June 22, 2018 at Logan Regional Medical Center. Born on January 14, 1939 in Logan, he was the son of the late John Barton and Catherine (Berkley) Buskirk. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Betty Ann Buskirk Stanley and a loving wife, Barbara Varacalli Buskirk.

Jim’s interests included traveling, craftsmanship, and the Fine Arts.

Jim was a proud member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Logan, where he was a member of the vestry. He was a loving husband to his wife of 43 years. Jim taught his children and grandchildren how to be strong individuals and to pursue what they want in life.

Jim showed compassion to everyone, never meeting a stranger and loved to meet new people. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Rhein Buskirk, Lieutenant Colonel James Buskirk and a daughter, Natalie Buskirk Murphy, four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Buskirk, James Ryan Buskirk, Brenna Buskirk, and Sophia Murphy. Other survivors include Paula White, Denena Green, two brothers-in-law Leonard (Janice) Varacalli and Frankie (Della) Varacalli, cousins, extended family and close friends.

The family would like to thank the 4th Floor nursing staff of LRMC. Funeral services will be held on Friday June 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Burial will be at the Buskirk Cemetery in Logan.

A dinner will follow at the family home. Family and friends may call on the family on 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday at Honaker Funeral Home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
