Obituary for Virginia W. Shirley Virginia Ward Shirley, 86, widow of Paul Edward Shirley, Sr., passed away June 14, 2018. A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late Lewis and Clela Whitener Ward, she was a homemaker, a member of Greer First Baptist Church and Southern Bell Telephone Pioneer and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Surviving are a son, Paul “Eddie” Shirley, Jr. (Sue) of Greenville; a sister, Nancy Fieneman of Hohenwald, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Alan Shirley (Beth) and Marijke Posch (Owen); and one great-granddaughter, Anna Meike Posch.

Mrs. Shirley was predeceased by a son, Kenny Shirley and four brothers, Lewis Ward, Jack Ward, Richard Ward and Paul Alan Ward. A memorial service will be held 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Greer First Baptist Church, conducted by Mrs. Dottie Bryson. Honorary escort will be the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be held 3:00-4:45 p.m. Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greer Community Ministries, P.O. Box 1373, Greer, SC 29652 or Country Santa, P.O. Box 856, Pickens, SC 29671. Online condolences may be made at www.
