Vivien C. Addie, age 85, passed peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the home of her son in Eatontown, NJ. She was born on January 22, 1933, on Staten Island, NY, to Benjamin and Mae Manee. On April 26, 1952, she married the love of her life, Arthur J. Addie, Jr. and the couple moved to Elizabeth, NJ, where they had three children.
Vivien was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brothers Benjamin, Arthur, and Gerard, her sister Mae Quinn, her daughter-in-law Barbara Addie, and her grandson, Ryan A. Egan. She is survived by her brother, Gordon Manee and his wife Mary, her daughter Donna Lee Lurker, her son Arthur J. Addie III and his wife Corinne, her daughter Christy Egan and her husband Thomas. Vivien enjoyed 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Vivien was a true creative. She was a talented dressmaker, designing beautiful wedding gowns and treasured keepsakes for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. With her husband, Vivien created dollhouses and miniatures throughout her life, and at one time for their store in Carteret, NJ, “Vivien’s World of Make Believe”.
She will be remembered by many for her vivid imagination and love of play. Vivien was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and everyone treasured their time with her. The impact made on the lives that she touched will never be forgotten.
