Vladislav V. Balakhnin, 51, of Florence, passed away on Friday, March 08, 2019. Mr. Balakhnin was born in Odessa, Ukraine, a son of the late Vladimir Balakhnin and Zhanna Soshchin Balakhnin. He was a former Nuclear Engineer with Duke Energy and a member of the Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church.

Surviving are his wife, Svitlana Lungu Balakhnin; his son, Vladimir Balakhnin, and daughter, Ariel Balakhnin. A Trisagion service will be held at 5:00 pm Saturday at the Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church with the family receiving friends immediately following the service. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church.
