Obituary of Wade Davis Wade Rayloy Davis, age 88, of Randleman died Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mr. Davis was born November 16, 1929 the son of Joseph and Lena Laughlin Davis. Wade was a native of Randolph County and worked with Carson’s Furniture of High Point as plant Manager and retired from Klaussner Furniture in the R&D department in Asheboro.

He was a longtime member of South Plainfield Friends Meeting. He was an accomplished Rook player and had a quick wit, his family affectionally called him the “King of the one Liner”. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents Wade is preceded in death by his brothers, Leon and Joseph Davis. He is survived by his wife: Rachel Cox Davis of the home; daughters Susan Jones and husband Michael of Greensboro, Carol Smith and husband Harry of Randleman; grandchildren: Rob and Cheryl Jones, Jenni and Ryan Newkirk, Clark and Amy Jones, Andrew and Meg Williams and Katie and Michael Hogan; 11 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 12:00-1:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 S. Main St., Randleman, NC.

The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Rev. Ricky Sessoms and Rev. Hugh Spaulding officiating.

Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro. Memorials may be made to Greater Greensboro Youth for Christ, 917 N. Elm St., Greensboro, NC 27401 or Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27203. Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman is serving the Davis family.
