Obituary of Vadis Shaw Vadis Lawson Shaw, age 84, of Asheboro passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Cross Road Retirement Community. Mrs. Shaw was born in Coleridge, NC on April 29, 1934 to Maud and Nora Coffer Lawson. She was formerly employed with General Electric and was a member of Fayetteville Street Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Vadis was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Shaw, and siblings, Dempsey Lawson, Garland Lawson, Virginia Lanier, Elvie Bullins, and Paul Ray Lawson. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Shaw Haney and husband David of Asheboro; son, Jeff Shaw and wife Ann of Beaufort, NC; grandchildren, Emily Haney, Tyler Haney, Kristen Lane and husband Jake, Justin Shaw and wife Brittany; great grandsons, Jacob and Grady; sisters, Betty Scott of Seagrove, Margie Ritch of Asheboro, Beverly McCain of Asheboro, and Brenda Trotter of Asheboro; and brother, Vance Lawson of Asheboro. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 10:00 am-12:00 noon at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro.

Funeral services will follow on Friday at 12:00 noon at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bruce Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009 or Fayetteville Street Baptist Church, 901 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
