Obituary of Russell Hare Star – Russell Franklin Hare, age 91, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018, at his home Mr. Hare was born in Moore County on April 28, 1927 to Franklin Stokes and Minnie Brown Hare. He was a member of Bascom Chapel UMC, was retired from Springs Aileen Plant, and was a farmer. He loved animals, raised chicken and cattle, enjoyed farming, and trained dogs for bird hunting.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, La Rue Parsons Hare; siblings, Norman Hare, Alton Hare, Marvin Hare, Ruby Comer, Edna Cagle, Odie Hare, Albert Hare, and Lacy Hare. He is survived by one son, Frankie S. Hare and wife, Jennifer, of Troy; grandson, Tristan B. Hare and wife, Peyton, of Troy; sisters, Dorothy H. Miller of Robbins and Mary H. Cole of Hampton, VA. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 14, 2018, from 1:00 – 1:45 PM at Bascom Chapel UMC, 501 Bascom Chapel Road, Robbins and other times at the home of Frankie and Jennifer.

The funeral will begin at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Vic Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
