Wallace Henry Sunderman, 78, of Fort Payne, Alabama, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019. He was born January 26, 1941 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Carl Henry Sunderman and Ursula Wallace Sunderman. Mr. Sunderman was retired from Siemens.

He was an active member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church where he and his wife, Annette, taught Religious Education classes. Mr. Sunderman was instrumental in starting a food bank at the Our Lady of the Valley. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30th at Our Lady of the Valley with burial following in Glenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 3 until 5 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home. A rosary and prayer service will be held at Our Lady of the Valley on Friday evening at 7:30. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Religious Education Building Fund, 2910 Gault Avenue North, Fort Payne, AL 35967.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Annette Sunderman; children, Julia Heim and husband, Martin, Wallace Sunderman Jr. and wife, Jenifer, and John Sunderman; sister, Patricia Rigatti; grandchildren, Matthew, Caitlyn, and Madison Heim; and several nieces and nephews.
