Walter W. Krantz, age 94, of Washington, Iowa, died Sunday, March 10, 2019, at the Parkview Home in Wayland, Iowa. Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2019, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Rees officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Thursday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening.
Interment with military honors will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. A general memorial has been established. Online condolences may be sent for Walter’s family through the web at www.
jonesfh.com. Walter was born November 8, 1924, in rural Washington County, the son of John and Jennie (Pearson) Krantz. He attended school in Crawfordsville, Iowa.
Walter was united in marriage to Margery Bloomfield. He was previously married to Grace Conrad. Walter lived most of his life in Washington County, Iowa.
He was a construction worker for Seedorf Masonry Company retiring in 1986. He enjoyed hunting, mushrooming, working around his house and especially fishing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Margery Krantz of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Cynthia Nunn of Davenport, Iowa; son, David Krantz and wife Linda of Washington, Iowa; son, Larry Allar and wife Sue of Hawaii; stepson, Kenneth Bloomfield of Santa Clarita, California; stepdaughter, Louise Klobasa of Florida; nine grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren and seven step great great grandchildren.
