Walter O. Trendle, 90, of Williamsburg and formerly of Eastport, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Munson Medical Center. He was born February 3, 1929 in Detroit, the son of Otto and Freda (Schatzle) Trendle. Walt was an engineer and worked for General Motors at the Warren Tech Center.

Upon retirement at the age of 55, he moved north into a new home on Torch Lake. Walt loved living on Torch Lake and enjoyed all the activities it offered, especially boating. He was a loving husband and father and very social too.

He enjoyed good company, watching sports and woodworking. Walt was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elk Rapids. Surviving Walt is his son Kurt (Cindy) Trendle of Toledo, OH, his granddaughter Krystal (Niki) Trendle- Dunn, and his sister Erica Wonn of TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Fran Delaney Trendle and his second wife Jean Bonfiglio Trendle. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 4, at 10 a.m. Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert J. Zuchowski presiding.

Burial will take place in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield. Memorial contributions can be given to the church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 143 Charles St., Elk Rapids, MI 49629. Arrangements have been handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
