Wanda M. Gibson, age 55, of McHenry, passed away on October 9, 2018 at Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 29, 1963 in Libertyville to Wayne and Blanche E. (Bryant) Sword. In 1986, Wanda was united in marriage to Dennis A. Gibson, Jr. An employee of Cunat, Inc. in McHenry for 5 years, Wanda’s greatest pride was raising her children and keeping a beautiful home.

Wanda possessed a radiant smile, infectious laugh, and an unmatched sense of humor. Selfless and caring, she will be forever remembered as a woman who consistently put others before herself.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 33 years, Dennis A. Gibson, Jr.; her mother, Blanche E. Sword; her son, Dennis A. Gibson, III; her grandchildren, Dylan and Beau; three brothers, Wayne, Terri, and Ted; two sisters, Tammy and Wendy; and her in-laws, Drex and Sue Miller and Dennis A. Gibson, Sr. Wanda was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Sword in 2008; and her daughter, Danielle Gibson, in 2009. Friends and neighbors are invited to visit with Wanda’s family on Sunday, October 21, 2018, from 10 a.m. until the 12 p.m. memorial service at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Rd. , McHenry, IL 60050.
