Wilda Mae Valentine August 27, 1938 – January 09, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Wilda “TeTe” Mae Jones Valentine, 80 of Lake Charles, La, passed away on Wednesday, Jan 9, 2019, in Sugarland, Tx. Wilda was born August 27, 1938, in Welch, La. to the late Toussand Jones and Mathilda Idele Rideau Jones.

Being raised in a Christian home, Wilda was baptized and accepted Christ at a very early age under the leadership of Reverend White of Mount Olive Baptist Church. Wilda was a graduate of Washington High School in 1958. Wilda Mae was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Daniel Joseph Valentine on June 8, 1958, and was blessed with three beautiful children, Marlon, Monica, and Stacey Valentine.

Wilda Mae, affectionately called “Tete” was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. A consummate mother and homemaker, Wilda enjoyed nurturing and caring for her children and husband. She enjoyed frequently communicating and visiting with family and friends.

Wilda was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Joseph Valentine; two children, Stacey M. and Marlon E. Valentine; two grandchildren, Warren N. Jones, and Leighkyn M. Jones. Parents Toussand and Mathilda Jones; two brothers, Merrick and Cholley Jones. She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Monica B. Valentine and one granddaughter, Meghan (Brannon) Jones- Papillion and a host of nieces, nephews and family and friends.
