Obituary for William A. Vandiver Sr. William A. Vandiver, Sr., age 95, of Waverly, TN. , passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Jamestowne Assisted Living in Kingston, TN. During WW II, Mr. Vandiver entered the Merchant Marines and was discharged as a Lieutenant Commander, Chief Engineer.

After the war, he worked 30 years with TVA and retired as an Assistant Operating Supervisor. During his life, he was a published author, built 2 cars, and an airplane which he flew. Mr. Vandiver was preceded in death by his parents Pronce A. and Lillian May Vandiver, wife Roberta D. Vandiver, son Barry Vandiver, and brothers P. A. and Clayton Vandiver.

Survivors include a son, Bill Vandiver and wife Elaine of Kingston, Kaye Vandiver of Pfafftown, NC, 3 grandchildren, Julie Helton (Chad), Jennifer Jones (Anthony), and Brian Vandiver (Rebecca), and 7 great grandchildren. Family visitation will be Monday July 2, 2018, from 2-3:00 PM at Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston with funeral service immediately afterwards at 3 PM. Burial will be Tuesday July 3, 2018, at 1 PM (central time) at Valhalla Cemetery in Birmingham, Ala.
