Obituary for William “Bill” Allston Gasque Jr. Today, July 20, 2018 I, Carter Dillard Gasque, say goodbye to William Gasque, my sweetheart, my friend, my lover and my pal. William “Bill” Allston Gasque, Jr. 79, lifetime resident of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away on July 20, 2018 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents, William A. Gasque, Sr and Harriett Yates Gasque, and his beloved grandmother Laurie Wilcox Briggs.

Mr. Gasque served our country in the United State Coast Guard. Upon leaving the service be opened his own barbershop. He also had a career in real estate receiving numerous awards for sale and marketing.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed sailing with his family to the Gulf of Mexico He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Carter Dillard Gasque; son, Joseph Allston Gasque of Huntington Beach, CA, stepdaughter, Heather Stevens (Robert) of Amherst, VA, stepdaughter, Courtney Beer (Tim) of Goshen, IN; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; sisters, Harriett Stompf, Carol Ann Dickinson and Sande Kay Faust; and brothers, Thomas Gasque and David Gasque. Bill had a deep love for Murrells Inlet. To her sticky summer nights and the sound of palmetto wings flying in the night.

The predictable sounds of the cricket chorus, to the cool morning marsh breeze. And most importantly to the love and joy Murrells Inlet brought to him and his family. The family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00pm Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
