He was born in Bismarck on August 25th, 1953, to George Paul and Eunice (Siems) Paul. Bill is a 1971 graduate from Bismarck High School and North Dakota State University receiving his Pharmacy degree in 1976. Bill married Roxanne Roth in May of 1976, were married for 42 years and had two children, Steven and Nikki.
Bill worked as a pharmacist for 37 years at Osco/CVS. His life was dedicated to improving the lives of others. He loved developing relationships with customers and the people he worked with.
He had a great time with his “golf buddies” gambling for quarters and beer. He was always excited to take his winter golf trips to Arizona (don’t blame him, it’s cold here)! Bill was even fortunate enough to take in a few PGA events.
He attended many of Steven’s football, track, and baseball games and Nikki performing with her dance team. He watched the Minnesota Vikings (when they were winning) and took pride in watching the Bison win championships. Bill looked forward to visiting his grandchildren in Fisher, MN; working on projects, burning trees and telling stories around the bonfire.
He enjoyed summer family fishing trips to Lake of the Woods and Devils Lake (where he always ended up in the lake somehow). The only thing he liked about winter was ice fishing with his son Steven, brother-in-law Tim and nephew Josh. He loved his garden and would gladly weed and water his daughter’s-in-law garden for her!
Bill and Nikki had many Wednesday movie nights (and they were always way to loud for the rest of the household) and laughed a lot watching comedy together. He enjoyed watching and taking care of the birds and squirrels in the back yard. Bill and Roxy had a great love for listening to music together, creating many downloaded playlists together over the years.
He also loved to sing! (Not having the best signing voice but we all loved hearing it anyways. ) He always opened his heart and home to everyone, we will all miss the “candy-man”.
Always having bags of candy for all the kids (and adults) to share around the campfire during family campouts at Lake Sakakawea. Bill was also a universal blood donor who donated over a 100 pints of blood to help others. For the last few years he donated, he became a “VIP Baby Donor” in which his blood was compatible for premature babies needing transfusions.
Bill is survived by his wife, Roxanne; children, Steven (Jen), Fisher MN and Nikki of Bismarck. Grandchildren, Isabella, Ruby and Jack; as well as brother, Ken “Kip” (Adele) Bismarck; sister, Connie Quinn (Mike), Mandan; sister-in-law, Sherrie of Colorado Springs, CO, Sisters-in-law Coleetta Roth of Williston; Jeanette Leingang (Dan) of Washburn, and Jennifer Leier (Tim) of Bismarck. Nephews and Nieces: Wendy Tavenner, Vicki Watt, Todd Quinn, Kim Rennich, Tyler Paul, Chad and Cory Leingang; Josh and Ashley Leier.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father George and Eunice & older brother Gary. The Paul family would like to extend our appreciation through this hard time to the staff of Mid Dakota Clinic, Sanford Health and Augusta Place. And also special thanks to Dr. Kurniali and Dr. LaBeau of Sanford Heath, your guidance was very appreciated.
