Obituary for William (Bill) John McKee Sr. On June 21, 2018, William John McKee Sr. joined his mother and older brother in the Kingdom of God. Bill was born on October 19, 1964 in Clarksville to Thomas and Lola McKee. He was the youngest of three children; older sister Nettie Mirike and older brother, Robert Milton Mirike.

He grew up in Abilene and the family moved to Ingram in 1978. Bill attended Ingram Tom Moore High School until he enlisted in the US Army in 1982. After the service, Bill returned to Kerrville with his wife, Margaret.

They have two beautiful sons, Marco and Bill McKee Jr. Bill is the proud owner of Skin Deep Tanning. Over the years, he coached and mentored several youth sporting teams in the Hill Country area becoming like another father figure to many of these children. Bill loved to help people and will be remembered for having a warm, loving and kind heart.

Bill was a great storyteller, loved to reminisce and could argue any point. He always kept it real and was a good BS’er. Bill was a true hippie and loved his tie-dye t-shirts.

He enjoyed playing poker. Above all, Bill will be remembered as a loving husband to Margaret for 36 years, wonderful dad, Pops, uncle and dear friend. Bill is survived by his wife, Margaret Calderon McKee; sons, Marco J.F. McKee and wife, Patricia Castaneda and William John McKee Jr. and wife, Betsi; grandchildren, Axel, Genesis, Henley and Hayden; siblings, Nettie Mirike, Katey Vincent and wife, Crystal Voelkel; mother in law, Margarita C. Calderon; sister in law, Magda Calderon; brother in law, Mario Calderon and wife Christina; nieces and nephews, Richard, Marcus, Maranda and Marshall; also, survived by other relatives and many community friends.
