Richmondville-William D. Sisson, 84, of River Street, died Monday, May 7, 2018 at his residence. Born July 25, 1933 in Worcester, he was the son of Lawrence and Margaret (McMullen) Sisson. Bill was a United States Air Force veteran, serving from 1951 until 1955 when he received an honorable discharge.

For many years, he was head of grounds at SUNY Cobleskill before retiring. Bill was an avid Yankees fan. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie (Smith) Sisson, whom he married October 2, 1954; his eight children: William L. Sisson of Cobleskill, Gail (Jeffrey) Eckler of Cobleskill, Judy (Edward) Fancher of Richmondville, Charles Sisson of Sharon Springs, Sheila (Kenny) Johnson of Cobleskill, Sandra Sisson (Jerry Terpening) of Richmondville, Sharon Edwards of Cobleskill, and Sally (Richard) Sawyer of Worcester; twenty-one grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and several sisters.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:30PM on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Richmondville Rural Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Richmondville Vounteer Fire Dept. , PO Box 481, Richmondville, NY 12149 or RVES, PO Box 11, Richmondville, NY 12149.
