Obituary for William David Reynolds CHATHAM, William David Reynolds of Chatham, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on October 24, 2018. He was born to Fannie Reynolds and Raymond Reynolds on September 23, 1927. He lived his entire life on his beloved family farm.

William married Dorothy Bowles, his wife of 65 years, on June 12, 1953. He loved spending time worshiping God at Hollywood and Greenpond Baptist churches, being with his family, working on the land, and, in recent years, beekeeping. He was a man of few words but liked to tell stories of growing up on the farm with his brothers, Elbert Reynolds and Robert Reynolds, as well as playing baseball with his best friends when growing up.

William served in the Army during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant. He was employed at Goodyear for 26 years. During retirement, William and Dot volunteered at the Pittsylvania County Food Center.

William was a loving, faithful, and generous person who was willing to help when needed. He was very proud of his daughters, Carolyn Davis of Mebane, North Carolina, and Beverly Darling of Shrewsbury, Vermont. He cherished spending time with his grandsons, William Davis, serving in the US Army, and Ryan Darling of Vermont.

In addition to being survived by his wife, daughters, and grandsons, he leaves behind a son-in-law Scott Darling, granddaughter-in-law, Maggie Davis, nieces, nephews, and extended family. He is predeceased by his parents and brothers. He was loved deeply and will be missed immensely.

Funeral services will be conducted at Scott Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 am with Rev. Larry Davis and Rev. Steve Carlton officiating.

Burial will follow at Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Scott Funeral Home on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Pittsylvania County Food Center in Gretna, Virginia.
