William Dempsey Weaver, 89, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Twp. , died Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 9:11 pm at his home. Born August 16, 1928 in Chattanooga, TN he was the son of the late Gertrude Mann.

A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 68 years, Mr. Weaver was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church. An electrician by trade for 46 years, Bill was a member of the IBEW Local 175 in Chattanooga and Local 5, Pittsburgh, worked at the New York World’s fair, Verrazzano-Narrows bridge in New York, the Tennessee Valley Authority and at numerous power plants. he was an avid bowler at Brunswick 51 Lanes where he coached Junior Bowlers for 23 years and held many officer positions.

He was on the board of Pittsburgh Ten Pin Association for 30 years and was President on 1998-99. Bill was later inducted into the Pittsburgh hall of Fame in 1992, inducted into the PSBA Hall of Fame in 2004 and a member of the PSBA Board from 1984 to retirement in 2010. He is survived by his wife Margaret Manack Weaver to whom he married on October 19, 1949 in Brownsville; six children Sherry Whitfield & husband Stanley of Georgia, William Weaver Jr. & Wife Sherrie of Texas, Rosemary Koliscak & husband Bernie of Rostraver Twp.

, Margaret Ann Kelly & husband Jim of Florida, Richard Weaver & wife Kathy of Greensburg, Trudy Wegman & husband Dennis of Arizona; 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; sisters in law & brothers in law Joseph & Loretta Manack, James & Joanne Manack, Catherine Matson and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his step mother Nellie George; half-brother Frank O. Byrd; son in law James Kirshner; granddaughter Meghan Weaver; son Jerry Stone; brothers in law John Manack, Michael Zolock, James Matson; sisters in law Rose Manack, Helen Zolock. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.

Prayers of Transfer will be held Saturday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 10:00 am at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. James Bump as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.

Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of William Weaver Friday at 3 pm in the funeral home. The Family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of William D. Weaver to the Mon Valley YMCA.
