Obituary for William J. McGill, Jr. William J. McGill, Jr. 82, of Cornwall died Sunday, October 14, 2018 in Magnolia’s at Lancaster. He was the husband of Ellen Buck McGill with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage. Born in St. Louis, MO, on March 25, 1936, he was the son of the late William J., Sr. and Ethel Williams McGill.

He served as Dean of Lebanon Valley College from 1986-1998, and was named acting President for one year. Bill received his Ph.D. from Harvard University, and he was an ordained Episcopal Priest. Bill was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Hershey, where he served as an associate Priest.

He appeared in numerous theatrical productions locally and in Northern Michigan, enjoyed bicycling and sailing, was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, a published author of several books, editor of Spitball magazine, and he spent summers in Bay View, Michigan. He received an honorary degree from Lebanon Valley College, and its baseball stadium, McGill Field, is named after him. Surviving in addition to his wife are: daughter Sara, wife of Thomas Ondrejko of Pittsburgh; daughter Susan, wife of Curt Suprock of Mt.

Airy, MD; daughter Alison, wife of Jeffrey Harris of Marietta, GA; six grandchildren; and a brother Michael McGill (Mary Beth) of Rye Beach, NH. Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM at Cornwall Manor’s Levi Zerr Chapel, 1 Boyd Street, Cornwall, PA 17016. Inurnment will be held in Bayview Association Memorial Garden.
