Obituary for William Dugger Jr. William Noble Dugger, Jr., 71, of Thompsonville, passed away at 10:57 a.m., Thursday, July 12, 2018 in Herrin Hospital with his family by his side. William was born December 29, 1946 in DuQuoin, Illinois to William Noble and Katherine (Keigley) Dugger, Sr He married Cristal Elaine Shaw on August 31, 1974 in Wayne City.

Together they have shared 44 years of marriage. William was retired, having been an Electrician for 47 and one half years. He worked many years for Big D Electric in Eldorado.

He was a member of IBEW Local 702 and the Toastmaster’s Club. He counseled inmates at the Marion Federal Prison. William was a hard worker throughout his life and will be deeply missed by his family.

William enjoyed writing and was an excellent story teller. He received several awards for his storytelling skills. He also enjoyed reading, gardening and cooking.

He loved to play the guitar and was taught by Roy Baxley. He was a 1966 graduate of West Frankfort High School. Survivors include his wife Cristal Dugger of Thompsonville; two children, Bryan (Kathy) Dugger of Thompsonville and Channa Dugger of Thompsonville; four grandchildren, Bryanna (Caleb) Wilkerson, Devon, Billy and Addy Dugger.

He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and his dogs, Charlie and Izzy. He was preceded in death by his parents; special cousin, Roy “Bud” Harrison and his childhood dog Chrissy. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018 in Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev.

Brian Mixon officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
