Mr. William Rex Martin, 82, of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Covered Bridge. He was born in Heltonville to the late Lebert and Dorothy (Rout) Martin. Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Monday, February 18 at 11 am with Deacon Mike East officiating.

Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Sunday, February 17 from 2-6 pm and Monday from 10 am until time of service. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and was lawn caretaker for the church.

He retired from Cummins Engine Company after over 40 years of service. He was a member of Time Turners. He enjoyed square dancing.

He also enjoyed stock car racing with his son, especially at Brownstown Speedway. He was an avid fan of Jeremy Hines Racing. On January 19, 1952, he married Joan Carol (Johnson) Martin; she preceded him in death on September 23, 2006.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Martin; sister-in-law, Sharon (Thomas) Freeman; nieces, Tami Trimpe, Traci Freeman and Sherry Martin Todd; and nephew, Jon Freeman. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, William Bradley Martin; brother, Wesley (Patty) Martin; and nephew, Steve Martin. Memorials may be written to charity of choice, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
