Obituary for William “Bill” Tolley William W. Tolley, 88, of Elkview went home to be with his Lord, on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice West, South Charleston. He was born in Lowell, Ohio on Sept. 25, 1929 to the late Donald Ova Tolley and Maysel Jane Hill Tolley, also preceded in death by six of his siblings.
He graduated from Walton High School in 1949, and then served his country in the Navy for nearly 4 years. He was very proud to have served on the USS Missouri, and happy that part of that time he was able to serve with his brother, Curtis. Bill was employed by AEP, Valley Bell, Ordnance Plant, and then retired from FMC.
Bill accepted Christ in 1969 and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Bill is survived by his wife of 63 1/2 years, Kathryn “Katie” Gandee Tolley and, daughters, Kristina (Ron) Spurgeon of Williamstown, Belinda Dorsey of Nitro, Teresa (John) Ward Keenan of Knoxville, Tenn.
, and Martha Shaffer and fiancé Ron Jackson of Charleston; brother, Walter Eugene (Wanda) Tolley, also survived by seven grandchildren. Service will be 12:00 pm Friday, May 25, 2018 at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Lee Swor officiating. Burial will be in the Droddy-Canterbury Cemetery, Walton.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please contribute to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Building Fund.
