Obituary for Virginia ” Jenny” Carte Virginia Carte Virginia “Jenny” Carte of Charleston, WV went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 28, 2018. She was 88 years old and was born on February 3, 1930. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 56 years and high school sweetheart Ralph C. Carte.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, Buford C. Bach and Martha Marie Bach, Her brothers James “Buddy” Bach and Elwood Roy Bach and sisters, Betty Burgess and Shirley Lackey. Jenny was a graduate of Elkview High School. She was a teacher’s aide at Big Chimney Elementary, a long time member of the Coopers Creek Homemakers Club, and she was a member of the Elk Valley Advent Christian Church in Big Chimney.

She leaves behind three daughters, Barbara Cooper (Gary) of York, South Carolina, Carolyn Carte of South Charleston, WV and Debbie Vickers (Jeff) of South Charleston, WV. and one son, Bob Carte of Chillicothe, Ohio. Four grandchildren.

Jimmy Harris (Missy) of Charlotte, NC, John Harris (Jan) of York, SC, Matthew Griffith (Heather) of Elkview, WV and Christy Foltz (Ryan) of Front Royal VA. Also eight great-grandchildren. Jacob Harris, Jenna Harris, Justin Harris and Logan Harris, Aeden Griffith, Lochlan Griffith, Nicholas Foltz, and Lauren Foltz.

She also leaves behind her best friend since Jr. High, Leah Cunningham Cottrill, who was always like an aunt to her children. Jenny wanted to be cremated and have her ashes buried beside her husband Ralph at the Carte Cemetery on Coopers Creek, where the family will gather with friends at 1:00PM Wednesday October 31, 2018 for a celebration of her life. Pastor Roy Boyd will be Officiating.
