Obituary for Mr. Willie L. Mitchell WILLIE LEE MITCHELL 82, of Brick formerly of Neptune NJ, passed away Wednesday May 30, 2018, at home. He was born on May 18, 1936 in Folkston GA. to the late Arthur Mitchell Sr. and Julia Robinson Gibson.

Willie was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years; Eleanor Mitchell. Willie was a retired Army Sergeant that fought in the Korean War. After his retirement from the Army he worked as a mechanic until he was employed as a truck driver for Neptune Township Public Works until he retired in 1993.

Willie also was a professional Blues and Jazz musician; in which he song and played the bass guitar for the Willie Mitchell & The Collaboration Band; he was a member of God’s Holiness & Righteousness Church, Pt. Pleasant NJ. He served as music director, until his health failed him.

Those survived to cherish his memory are his children, Arthur (Dorothy) Mitchell of Folkston GA; Tiffany (Lester) Roberts of Eatontown NJ; Erik (Itzel) Mitchell of Lehigh Acres FL; Nikki (Rodney) Young of Brick NJ with whom he lived. Seven grandchildren: Tiavonda Harris, Ronald Powell, Azaria Harris, Myron (Sarah) Young, Derrick Harris, Jammall Jules, and Evander Young; Twelve great grandchildren: Kamora, Tavanna, Jiyanni, Liam, Maria, Noah, Roman, Ellaniyah, Amira, Jazhier, Zorhia, and Marley; Three brothers, Wallace Mitchell, William Mitchell of Jacksonville FL; Charles Mitchell of Savannah GA; Four sisters, Ruth Mitchell of Jacksonville FL; Lillie Mitchell, Essie Martin, Rosetta Pridgen of Savannah GA; a host of sister & brother in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and best friend Albert Holmes.
