Obituary for Willie Olivares After a lifetime spent singing, praising and preaching for His Lord and Savior, Willie Olivares stepped into his reward on Saturday, November 24, 2018 and at 11:40 PM, he heard Him say “Welcome Home, well done, thou good and faithful servant”. He was born in Laredo, Texas on May 9, 1937, to the late Jose Luis and Alicia (Paez) Olivares. Willie retired from General Motors, but his passion in life was singing Gospel music with his brothers and reaching souls for Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Agueda “Cira” Olivares on September 15, 2018, and son, William Olivarez, Jr. in May of 2010. Willie is survived by his sons & daughter-in-law, Gilberto Olivares of Tyler, Texas, David & Sylvia Olivares of Lindale, Texas, Stephen Olivares of Tyler, Texas and Justin Alexander Olivarez of Lindale, Texas; daughter & son-in-law, Deborah & Larry Kellas of Lindale, Texas; brothers & sisters-in-law, Gilberto & Ofie Olivarez, Ernie & Jane Olivarez, Eugene & Jean Olivarez, Salvador & Alice Olivarez, and Samuel Olivarez; sister & brother-in-law, Connie & Jesse Montez; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons: Joshua Burrola, Sam Olivares, Steve Olivares, Justin Olivarez, Nicolas Kellas, and Nathan Kellas.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Green Acres Baptist Church Chapel in Tyler, Texas with Rev. Danny Olivares officiating.

Interment will follow in the Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale, Texas.
