Willis C. Brown, 81, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 9:24 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Paintsville, KY on April 26, 1937, the son of the late Lacy and Cloie (Lemaster) Brown. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Brown.

On April 28, 1962, he married Julia (Hunt) Brown and she survives along with their children, a son, Greg (Tressa) Brown of Ft. Jennings, OH and Melissa (Scott) Workman of Westerville, OH, five grandchildren; Ian Brown, Connor Brown, Mara (Brown) Grothaus, Matthew Workman, and Kyle Workman, six sisters; Bureeda Hackworth, Betty Wallen, Mildred Burkholder, Viola Wilson, Elwanda Hastings, Judi Ludwig, two brothers; Clyde Brown and Larry Brown and numerous nieces and nephews. Willis worked for the telephone company for many years before becoming an insurance agent for Nationwide Insurance.

He was a member of the U.S. National Guard and was a longtime member of the Bellefontaine Elks Lodge #132 as well as the V.F.W. #1080 and Rotary Club of Bellefontaine. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed golfing, gardening, and spoiling his grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 23, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
