Windell Tucker was born on December 24, 1941, in Silsbee, Texas, to Claudie Lee and Willie Bee (Allen) Tucker. He passed away on Sunday, July 8, at his home in Marlow at the age of 76. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 11, at 10:00 A.M. at Whitt Funeral Home in Duncan.

Interment will follow in the Marlow Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be presented by the Stephens County Honor Guard. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Windell attended schools in Silsbee. He joined the U.S. Army on July 12, 1959, during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in December of 1959, and then served in the U.S. Army Corps in Austin.

He later attended Lamar College in Beaumont. He married Barbara Josephine Stultz on April 14, 1962, in Duncan, Oklahoma. He was employed as an oilfield pumper.

Windell loved playing the guitar. He played with the Unity Singers band for the Marlow Senior Citizens, at the Comanche Opry, for the MDA Telethon, and at the State Fair of Oklahoma. He enjoyed fishing, camping, visiting with family, and loved watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Windell is survived by his children, Tonia and husband Wayne Smith of Duncan, Julie and husband Harold Waller of Marlow, Windell Brian Tucker of Tulsa, Cynthia and husband Eric DuPont of Marlow, and James and wife Whitney Tucker of Chickasha; 19 grandchildren, Kyle and wife Stephanie Smith, Kayla Smith, Brian and wife Shawna Lowry, Bradly Lowry, David Tucker, Kindell Tucker, Quinayah Thomas, Claudia Hayes, Elizabeth Hayes, Brian Tucker, Jacoby Maul, Caden Tucker, Greyson Tucker, Dylan Waller, Kamryn Waller, Destiny Waller, Jacob Tucker, Lewis Tucker, and David Tucker; 2 great grandchildren, Brock Smith and Maeli Lowry; brother-in-law, Ray Teakell, and sister-in-law, Billie Tucker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Tucker, in 2007; parents, Claudie Lee and Willie Bee Tucker; 4 brothers, Charles Tucker, James Tucker, Earl Tucker, and infant Claude Tucker; infant sister, Jenny Tucker; and sister-in-law, Joyce Teakell. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons.
