Yvonne’s Obituary Yvonne “Auntie” Mitchell was born on December 21, 1946 to the late Eldridge and Eva McCarthey Sr. Yvonne grew up in Killona, LA. where she attended Carver High School in Hahnville, LA. Yvonne “Auntie” decided to take her wings and answer the call from God on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

Preceded in death by her husband Roy Mitchell. Maternal grandparents Joseph Ernest and Adline Washington, her parents Eldridge and Eva McCarthey Sr., step-father Calvin Narcisse, (4) brothers: Eldridge Jr., Robert McCarthey, Ernest Bartley, and Richard Bartley and (2) sisters: Elvera “Vera” McCarthey and Isabel Haydel. She leaves to cherish her memory, (1) son Marvin “Peanut” Mitchell, 6 grandchildren: Daynisha Flowers, Kasheena Pierre, Courtney Quezerque, Jilleion Collier, Kentrall Lumar, and the late Marvin Mitchell Jr. 11 great grandchildren, (3) brothers: Vernon McCarthey, Eldridge Kennedy, Wilfred Drake and (1) sister Rose Diane Williams.

She was a second mother to Reywon, Tashonda, Morrissell McCarthey & Debra Isaac. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, other relatives, and neighbors who will miss her presence deeply. Family and friends are invited to attend her Celebration of Life Service on Friday, January 25, 2019 for 11:00 a.m. at Canaan Baptist Church, 319 Killona Drive, Killona, LA 70057.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Henry Wolf, officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery, Taft, LA. Guestbook Online: www.
