OBITUARY Karen Gordon Crawford June 26, 1949 – January 19, 2019 Karen Gordon Crawford peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones and the love of her life, Bobby. She lived her life by her faith and devotion and love for her family and friends, always leading by example in her quiet, yet stoic, way. The cities of New Orleans; Pass Christian, Mississippi; and Highlands, North Carolina all held a special place in Karen’s heart and brought her many treasured friends.

With Bobby by her side, she found joy in life’s simple, everyday gifts. Karen was active in many charitable and social organizations, including delivering meals to the homebound in Metairie and working for the Highlands Food Bank, Our Lady of the Mountains Church, Junior League, Orleans Club, Garden Club, Grass Roots, Colonial Dames, Sybarites, St. Francis Church and our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church. She cherished her time and friendships in the Highlands where she volunteered at local churches.

The daughter of the late Evelyn and T.M. Gordon, she is survived by her husband Robert Voorhies Crawford; siblings, Thomas Miller Gordon, Henry Hodges Gordon (Lorie), and Tee Gordon Zimmermann (John); her children, Lawson Torrey Gomila (Ellen), Gordon Scott Gomila, Whitney Evans Gomila (Ashley), Robert Jordy Crawford, Stephen Coerte Crawford (Laura), Lacey Crawford Lanier (Price); and grandchildren, Henley, Sudie, Gordon, Garrett, Hudson, Edward, Jack, Kate, Lilly, Coerte, Lottye, Logan, Sterling, and Suzie. Her life was also blessed with many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins of the Hodges, Caffery, Gordon, and Zimmermann families. Funeral Services will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church in Metairie, LA on Thursday, January 24, 2019.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 12 Noon. Her family extends their gratitude to Dr. Jayne Gurtler for the love and care given to her during her illness.
