OBITUARY Albert Ward Gibson October 7, 1949 – January 14, 2019 Memorial service for Albert “Buddy” Ward Gibson, 69, of Weaver, will be 2pm on Thursday, January 17th 2018, at Cornerstone Fellowship Weaver with Rick Coffman, Randy Wilson, Cadrew Strickland, and Pastor Matt Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm at the church. Mr. Gibson passed away Monday at RMC.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Corliss “Ann” Gibson; children Lorie Coffman (Rick), Darren Gibson (Nicole), and Callie Daniel; grandchildren Dustin Davis, Alauna Johnson (Logan), Landon Daniel, and Madison Daniel; great grandchild Annalee Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and his Chihuahua Chula-Grace. Mr. Gibson is preceded in death by his parents Ernest Ward Gibson and Thelma Aviline Vise Gibson; and sister Cliffie Whitt. Mr. Gibson was born in Illinois but lived most of his life in Weaver, AL where he served as Weaver City Councilman before serving as Mayor of the City of Weaver from 1984-1988.

He was a charter member of Cornerstone Fellowship Weaver and helped found the church in 1984. He worked Civil Service for 20 years; was the owner of Alexandria Homes and Weaver Station Café. Mr. Gibson was an entrepreneur, operating many businesses throughout his life.

In his personal time, he enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, and making stained glass. He took pride in his grandkids and loved to spend time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
