Obituary for Albert Wolschleger Albert Bernard Wolschleger, age 94, of Harbor Beach entered eternal life on September 26, 2018. He was born January 27, 1924, in Harbor Beach, the son of Michael and Anna (Booms) Wolschleger. He married Helen Romzek on August 26, 1944, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parisville, MI.
Albert was a loving, faithful husband for 74 years, caring, wise father, teasing Grandpa, kind Great-Grandpa, and tender Great-great Grandpa. Albert served in the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) Camp, sailed the Great Lakes, was Construction Superintendent at Booms Silo Company, worked at Hercules in Harbor Beach, was president of the local chapter of the NFO (National Farmers Organization), served on the parish executive committee at OLLH (Our Lady of Lake Huron) Church’s remodeling project, was an usher, lector and Eucharistic Minister, and farmed until his retirement on the family Farm. He built the house on the family homestead.
He was a true jokester, who always followed his jokes with a belly laugh, was always willing to lend a helping hand, an avid Detroit Tigers fan, loved playing cards, Scrabble, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and for many years walked daily with his wife. He is survived by his children, Lloyd (Sandy Boylan) Wolschleger, Webster, Fla. ; Gordon (Sharon Ulfig) Wolschleger, Harbor Beach; Jean (Robert) Winkel, Harbor Beach; Carol (Daniel) Wilson, Oro Valley, AZ; Evelyn (Gerald) Winkel, Bad Axe; Cyril (Sherrie Koehn) Wolschleger, Ubly; Yvonne, (Stu) Johnson, Dryden; Barry (Mary Jo Helewski) Wolschleger, Ubly; Maria, (Richard) Kaupp, Metamora; Albert II Wolschleger, Bad Axe; Helen (Kevin) Wiley, Kinde; and Carmel (Roger) Osentoski, Ubly, 49 grandchildren, 22 step-grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren, brother, Benedict (Vange) Wolschleger, sister-in-law, Verna Romzek.
He is preceded in death by his son, Peter, (Angela Melton (Anthony) Wood), grandchildren, Seth Wolschleger and Tiffany Wilson, brothers, Jerome, (Mary), Leonard, (Gertrude), Vincent, (Della), Ed, (Virginia), Denis, (Rosemary), Norman, (Delores), and sisters, Marie, (Irwin) Kubacki, and Leona, (Melvin) Ziskie, sisters and brothers-in-laws, Gertrude (Paul) Kolar, George (Cecilia) Romzek, Julia (Julius) O’Bee, Lawrence (Theresa) Romzek, Agnes (Peter) Pilot, Lucian (Alice) Romzek, Louis Romzek, Anna (Peter) Kociba, and Leo (Theresa) Romzek. A wake service will be held at Ramsey Funeral Home September 27, 2018 from 2-8 pm and 10:00-11:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lake Huron Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish at 11:30am.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to OLLH School or Friends of Kinde Polka Festival. A special thanks is given to caregivers, Angie, Jeanette, Anne, Sylvia, and Judy.
