Obituary of Aldof LeClair Aldof “Al” LeClair, 87, husband of the late Theresa R. LeClair, passed away peacefully June 17, 2018 at his home in Brewer. He was born April 12, 1931 in Vassalboro, the son of Fortunat and Alva (Letourneau) LeClair. Al, as he was known, served with the US Air Force during the Korean War era.

He worked in the moving business for many years having worked for Fox & Ginn Movers and eventually purchased the business owning and operating it for 25 years. He was very active in the community and was a lifelong devout Catholic. He was involved in several civic organizations and was always very generous with his time never looking for recognition or the spotlight.

Al was instrumental in the establishment of St. Mary’s Parish Credit Union. He was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Parish and was involved in many aspects of church life and he especially enjoyed his time singing in the St. Teresa’s Choir. Al and Theresa spent winters in Summerfield, FL and they had recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

As many knew, Al had a keen sense of humor. Surviving are five children, Yvette Turner and her husband Pat of Gorham, ME, Pete LeClair and his wife, Kristy of Windsor, Colorado, Terri Eldridge and her husband Mark of Brewer, Marc LeClair and his wife, Ellen of Bangor, and Phil LeClair and his wife Peggy of Hampden; eleven grandchildren, Luke, Melissa and Kate Turner, Bryce LeClair, Adam and Jill Eldridge, Emily LeClair, Andy, Catherine, Grace and PJ LeClair; seven great-grandchildren; one brother of Carmel and two sisters of Waterville; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Al was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Theresa in January by a son, Paul LeClair and by seven siblings.

Family and friends may visit 4 – 6 PM Wednesday June 20, 2018 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, June 21, 2018 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, So. Main St., Brewer.

Burial with military honors will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen, c/o Salvation Army of Bangor, 65 South Park St., PO Box 1101, Bangor, ME 04402.
