Obituary of Ruth Whitten Brewer—Ruth Mildred (McInnis) Whitten, 82, wife of the late Randolph Whitten, passed away July 25, 2018, at her home at Solstice Retirement Village, Bangor. She was born June 27, 1936, in Bangor, to Warren and Helen (McDonough) McInnis. She was raised by her grandparents, Captain Stephen Walter and Mildred Agnes (Condon) McDonough at their home in Winterport.

Ruth was a communicant at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Brewer. For many years she and her husband worked together building and operating their business, Whitten’s Two Way Service. She was predeceased by sister Mary Helen Goodall of New Holland, PA.

Ruth is survived by children Jeff Kingsbury and wife Donna of Frankfort, Doug Kingsbury and wife Patty of Brewer, Beth Kingsbury-Burns and husband Joel of Bangor, and John Kingsbury and wife Trish of East Corinth; stepchildren William Whitten and wife Barbara of Portland, Bruce Whitten of Hollywood, FL, Susan Schiro of Scarborough, Pam Caylor and husband Paul of Independence, KY; grandchildren Samantha Kingsbury of Boston, Ryan Lounsbury of Bangor, Chelsea Kingsbury of Windham, Nathan Kingsbury of Cary, NC, Stephen Kingsbury of Fairbanks, AK, Michael Kingsbury of Bangor; great-grandchildren Grayson Kingsbury and Aria Macgowan of Windham; 13 step-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice of Bangor or Cancer Care of Maine. At Ruth’s request, there will be no services.

Private interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. Messages and memories may be shared with the family at kileyandfoley.com Arrangements by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer.
