Obituary for Alice Elizabeth Thatcher Alice Elizabeth Thatcher, age 95, a resident of Ferndale, formerly of Madison Heights, passed away January 6, 2019 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born September 15, 1923 in Ferndale. She was the loving mother of Robert (Katheryn) Thatcher, William (Deborah) Thatcher and Elizabeth (Paul) Meray; and dear sister-in-law of Dorothy Ainsworth.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents Allen and Clara Ainsworth; and her siblings Esther (late John) Havira, Mary Jean Ainsworth and Lawrence Ainsworth. Alice retired in 1987 from Consumers Power, where she worked as a supervisor. She loved to keep busy by gardening, cooking and baking, and in her earlier years, she also enjoyed traveling, woodworking and painting.

Visitation Wednesday 4-8 pm at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road (4 blocks E of Woodward), Royal Oak. In state Thursday 10 am until the time of the service 11 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 202 E Fifth Street, Royal Oak.

Burial at Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or Detroit Public Television are appreciated. Share your memories at www.
