Allan’s Obituary Allan C. Godwin, age 93 of NC Highway 8, Southmont passed away Monday night January 28, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Macedonia United Methodist Church with Rev. Tammy Talbert officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 in Spirit Hall prior to the service. Allan was born January 20, 1926 in Houston Texas to James Warren Godwin and Harriet Birkenfeld Godwin.

He was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School. He was retired Engineer Tech with Davidson County Broadcasting, and was a Merchant Marine having served during WWII. Was a member of the American Legion Post #8, and the VFW Post #3074.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 75 years, Martha Hedrick Godwin who passed away December 2018. Surviving are his son, Warren Godwin (Janet) of Trinity daughter, Susan Fritts (Bill) of Lexington; 4 grandchildren, Curtis Godwin (Shannon), Shelley Kirby (Rodney), Jeremy Godwin and Erin Fritts, great-grandchildren, Luke Kirby, Rachel Kirby, Emma Godwin, Peyton Godwin, Aidan Godwin and Eva Godwin;brother-in-law,Tommy Hedrick (Betty) of Southmont.
