Samuel’s Obituary Samuel Clifton May, age 69 of West Second Avenue, Lexington passed away Friday afternoon January 25, 2019 at his home. A funeral service will be held 11: 00 AM Monday, February 4, 2019 at Lexington Church of God with Rev. Rodney Merrill officiating.

Burial will follow at 1:00 PM Salisbury National Cemetery with military honors by Davidson County Honor Guard and the United States Marine Corp. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday night. Sam was born in Watauga County, NC on June 14, 1949 to Harrison May and Edna J. Ruth Phillips May.

He was employed in the Dry Wall business and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lena May. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Michael May of the home; daughter, Amanda Pulley (Eric) of Lexington; sons, David May and Clifton May (Ty) all of Lexington; grandchildren, Victoria, Dakota, Selah, Samara and Rhema May, Eden and Nolan Pulley; sisters, Sarah May and Karen Lawrence both of Lexington, Bonnie McNair of Gastonia and Betty Cashatt of Myrtle Beach, SC; brothers, Curtis May of Huntsville, Alabama and Harold May of Lexington.
