Allen Davidson, 72, of Beloit, WI, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 in Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born October 27, 1946 in Melbourne, AR, the son of Oliver and Ora (Watkins) Davidson. Allen was a 1964 graduate of Ethel Miller High School where he was active in basketball and track.

After high school, Allen enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corp. He married Lorraine Wilson on June 11, 1976 in Madison, WI. Allen was formerly employed by JC Penney and Chrysler for over 30 years, retiring in 2001.

After retirement he was employed by Rest Care and Senior Care as a care giver. He enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking and listening to WGN radio. Allen was on area pool and bowling leagues.

He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Allen was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Lorraine Davidson of Beloit, WI; children, Brian (Maria Patino) Davidson of Beloit, WI, Tremain (Nicole) Davidson of South Beloit, IL, Shonte Davidson, Bryanna (Rashad Turner) Bolton and Keenan (Mercedes Lloyd) Davidson all of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Sean, Ubaldo “Fran”, Camarah, Coriah, Rashi “Sweetie”, Allen, Kevaun and Tae; sister, Jule Emmanuel of Tampa, FL; brothers, Clifton (Toni) Davidson of Detroit, MI, and Donnie (Maria) Davidson of Tampa, FL; brother-in-law, Charles (Corrine) Wilson of California; sisters-in-law, Theresa (Ted) Chaney of Birmingham, AL and Carol Ross of Charlotte, NC; host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends; and best friend, Arthur Noble of Batesville, AR.

He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers Charlie Herbert JR. and Ray Herbert, and brother-in-law Ted Emmanuel. Funeral service for Allen will be at 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2019 in Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1151 E. Grand Avenue, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Rodney Hayes officiating.

Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by the V.F.W. Post #2306. Visitation of remembrance will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. A memorial in his name will be established at a later date for his grandchildren’s education.
