Allen Dustin Lovell June 28, 2004 ~ December 17, 2018 Allen Dustin Lovell, beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend, was called unexpectedly home to his Heavenly Father on Monday, December 17, 2018. He was fourteen years old. Allen’s life was one filled with love, family, service, activity, music, and spirit.

He was born June 28, 2004 in Logan, Utah. He had lived in Logan, Nibley, Providence, Farr West, and most recently Harrisville, Utah. He was a Utah boy through and through.

He loved to snowboard and mountain bike, shoot clay pigeons, play Fortnite, ride four wheelers, go camping, and chop wood at The Ridge in Idaho. He loved going for rides with his dad in the Pontiac Solstice, especially up and down the North Ogden Divide. He loved Marvel movies and playing the piano.

He loved his family and friends, and looked forward with eager anticipation to every outing where they were present. He loved getting together once a year with the Hatch and Beddes families, and recently spent Thanksgiving weekend with them on the beautiful Oregon coast. Allen’s life was a life of service.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his loving, generous spirit touched all he knew. He frequently read the scriptures, and was racing against his mom to complete the Doctrine and Covenants along with his Seminary class. He was quick to share his spiritual experiences with others, and looked forward to one day serving a mission for the Church.

While that won’t happen in this life, we know that his mission has now started early on the other side. He absolutely adored the outdoors, and there wasn’t a season where he couldn’t be found outside doing some favorite activity. Snowboarding and mountain biking were his two favorites, and he made his dad promise that next summer they’d hit every biking trail at Powder Mountain, and not just Brim.

He had season passes at Snowbasin and more recently at Powder Mountain, and unfortunately he won’t be able to use his new boots this season. He had a fishing license and went fishing in Oak Creek with his mom over the summer. He was so excited when the fish bit his hook, but a little saddened when he had to kill it.

He was a ninth grader at Orion Junior High, but he had fond memories of his time at Wahlquist. He loved choir and had a clear, beautiful tenor voice that would stand out in any group he was a part of. He didn’t want to stand out, but it couldn’t be helped.

His voice matched his spirit, pure and sweet. He inherited his mother’s sensitivity to others, and never wanted to hurt anyone. He always tried to serve and help wherever he could.

He recently spent a Saturday afternoon raking enormous piles of leaves in his Aunt Lori’s yard, and didn’t stop until over thirty large trash bags were piled up in the driveway. He had an eclectic taste in music, with a focus on 80s rock and rap from the last decade. He loved to read, with the Michael Vey series among his favorite books.

He loved his beagle Julia, and spent his last night on this earth snuggling up with her. As much as we humans can try and comprehend that death is a part of life, Googs only knows that Allen isn’t here anymore. Before his human family was able to come to his aid, Julia stood sentinel by his door and shepherded his spirit across the veil.

He is survived by his parents, Dustin and Laura Lovell; his sisters, Leslie and Allie; his big little brother, Lance; his grandparents, Ken and Jody Lovell and Michael and Loretta Landon; his uncles and aunts, Aaron and Cristy Beddes, Cody and Heidi Hatch, Lori and Wayne Thomas, Lisa and Todd Moser, Layne and Kim Lovell, and Mandy and Joe Parry; and in Allen’s words, a whole buttload of cousins and friends. We love you Allenbo. Godspeed little one.

You will be sorely missed, but we will honor your legacy to the best of our ability. Goodbye. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Harrisville 5th Ward Chapel, 2360 North 600 West.

Friends may visit with family on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Logan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund.
