Robert Lynn Dabling March 13, 1930 ~ December 3, 2018 Robert Lynn Dabling, 88, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, December 3, 2018. He was born in Ogden, Utah, on March 13, 1930 to Harry and Florence Mitchell Dabling. The family moved to Southern Idaho and returned to Utah in the early 1940s.

He lived in Washington Terrace and Ogden for a few years, and Roy for 30 years before settling in Farr West where he has lived for the last 26 years. Robert married Jean Rose Williams in May, 1948. They had two children; they were later divorced.

He married Detta Montgomery Barnes on June 11, 1955 in Jackson Hole, WY. They were later sealed in the Ogden Temple. Robert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He served faithfully as Ward Clerk, Elders Quorum President, High Priest Group Leader, Teachers Advisor, and Priesthood Instructor. He also served a Stake Mission, Ogden Visitor Center Missionary, and Inner City Mission, and was an Ogden Temple Worker. Robert was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps.

He worked at Hill Air Force Base for 38 years. His career there primarily involved Minuteman missile operations and maintenance. He also served as the Justice Court Judge in Farr West for ten years.

He loved the outdoors, camping with his family, hunting, but most of all fishing. Robert is survived by his wife, Detta M. Dabling; sons, LTC (ret) Robert Craig (Susan) Dabling of Harrisville, Monty Jay (Carolyn) Barnes of Harrisville, Robby Wane (Cindy) Dabling of Syracuse, and William Harry (Anita) Dabling of Inkom, ID; daughter, Debbie Jean (Dave) Baxter of Kingman, TX; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Maxine Taylor and Dorothy Thompson; He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Dennis Dabling, Ralph Dabling, and Margene Strong. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Farr West 1st Ward Chapel, 1800 North 1800 West.

Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment, Mountain View Eden Cemetery. Special thanks to his hospice caregivers.
