Allen Alfred Edelin, Jr. 78, of Littlestown, PA died on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at his home. Born June 21, 1940 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Allen Alfred Edelin, Sr. and the late Doris (Thomas) Edelin. He was the devoted husband of Dorothy (Denham) Edelin, his wife of 56 years.

Allen was a Medical Lab Tech at Union Memorial Hospital for over 30 years. He enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, listening to big band music and Johnny Cash, collecting stamps and rocks, and spending time with his family. In addition to his beloved wife Dorothy, he is survived by sons, Craig Edelin and wife Albina of Spring Grove, PA, Stewart Edelin and wife Kathy of Hanover, PA, Todd Edelin and wife Brenda of Bel Air, MD and Scott Edelin and wife Jennifer of York, PA; daughter, Danielle Alderton and husband Rick of Hanover, PA; brother, Charles Edelin of Parkville, MD; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sister, Diane Davies and sister-in-law, Verna Edelin. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD with his brother-in-law, the Rev. David Denham officiating.

Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Allen’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Dr, Memphis, TN, 38105.
