Allen J. Purnell died Thursday, September 3, 2018 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, MD. Born in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marie G. (Marshall) Purnell. Mr. Purnell was employed with the Worcester County Developmental Center where he worked as a custodian.

His survivors include two siblings: Marietta Purnell of Manhattan, NY and Joseph (Sandra) Purnell of Patterson, NJ; one uncle Phillip (Gloria) Purnell and one aunt Norma Conquest, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 21, 2018 at Jolley Memorial Chapel PA, 1213 Jersey Road, Salisbury, MD, where friends may view one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the New Bethel UM Church Cemetery.
